The architecture position is required to provide an insight
as to how start to evolve the DealHub platform to meet our clients’ needs in
Pricing, Hedging and Aggregation in particular. a team of almost 30 developers across 2 main locations London
and India. The role will face off to key business and operations sponsors to
ensure timely and quality delivery of software change whilst also influencing
the existing development team on the correct technology direction to take to
meet requirements in the already mentioned key areas. The existing DH development have little to no
experience in some of these areas and therefore a key part of this role is help
developers understand how other institutions have met these requirements. Given the lack of experience in these areas
it will also be necessary to partner product closely on making sure the
requirements are widely understood at a technical level within the DealHub
development team and guide the writing of functional specifications accordingly
and ensuring they are at the correct level of detail.
Collaborating with the QA team to ensure the development and
QA automation test strategies compliment each other will be a key part of the
role to ensure predictability and the quality of our deliveries to Production.
Career management of certain members of the team
including appraisals and other HR matters as needed
Full accountability for delivery against roadmap at the
right level of quality and timeliness
Architectural oversight of Dealhub, including the definition
of a architectural and service improvement roadmap for the platform. There is
an expectation that architectural consolidation is possible between the various
FX offerings within Financial Markets.
Assessment of cloud adoption opportunities leading to
implementation where appropriate
SDLC inclusive of any forward looking changes, strategically the department is
looking to explore and adopt more TDD and BDD techniques and adoption of agile
where business stakeholders are amenable.
Education and Experience
Previous experience in managing teams within a financial
markets environment is essential. Previous or current experience and a software
developer will also be very beneficial.
Practical experience in agile development techniques as
well as test driven and business driven development.
Experience of financial instrument pricing within a finance environment will beneficial.
Previous experience managing a large team is desirable
especially around aspects of staff motivation.
Energetic and an agent of change. Ability to balance long
term strategy wiith shorter term compromises where needed.
Clear concise communicator both written and verbal. Able
to understand and express complex concepts is essential
