The role is working at one of the largest and most reputable Financial Institutions in Sydney, in the capacity of a FIX Specialist, who will be responsible for the integration of the businesses clients to their Mifid II solutions / platforms. This role focusses on the complete front to back delivery of FIX connectivity and you will have overall responsibility for that delivery from both an analyst and project level. It offers the chance to work on some of the most imperative regulation in the financial market and expand your network.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of existing FIX protocols
  • Working with FIX 4.0/4.2/4.4/5.0
  • Overseeing the project from a PM perspective
  • Hands on testing for FIX
  • Direct interaction with clients
  • This is not a software development or engineering role.

Requirements

  • Recent hands on experience with preferably FIX, but XML would also work
  • Ability to work in Unix/Linux as part of the testing/troubling shooting process
  • Ability to interact, oversee the requirements through testing/certification of the MIFID II enhancements with multiple concurrent Bloomberg clients
  • A bachelor’s degree in information systems or a related technology field, or relevant work experience
  • Expertise with message protocols including FIX 4.0/4.2/4.4/5.0
  • Experience with XML / CSV
  • Experience in UNIX and Linux operating systems and commands, t-shooting LAN/WAN and in Middleware connectivity (TCP/IP. MQ, UDP)
  • Demonstrated history of solving complex problems with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong project management for executing customer driven short term projects and implementation requests (not looking for a Senior Project Manager)
  • Excellent communication skills and effective prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to multi task, remain calm under urgency and to adapt in a dynamic changing environment
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
